Washington DC is home to hundreds of hotels and resorts. Some of them are gay, some are gay friendly and some are in the gayborhoods, however that does not mean they are worth their grain in salt! This section is to help you find some of the harder to find Gay friendly hotels and resorts in Washington DC and some in the surrounding areas

One of my favorite places to go for cocktails when I want to be alone is a small botique hotel which most people do not know about called the Topaz Hotel on N St in NW Washington DC. Not only does the Topaz hotel have great finger foods and a cute bar/lounge area where you can order quality martinis, but the rooms are just as fun.
The entire hotel is privately owned allowing alot of freedom with the decor. Your room will be a modern masterpiece or an asian fusion wether it is india, china, japan etc... You are sure to have some eye candy besides your lover. The beds are very comfortable but the sheets could use a few extra hundred threads. Overall I would reccomend and do reccomend this hotel to people when they come to visit me. I actually had a couple of friends who came to dc to get married and they ended up falling in love with the Topaz hotel and chose to use it for their wedding night celebrations.
If Topaz is ever booked full, they do have a sister hotel which is very similar in that it is also modern, however for some reason I am always drawn back to Topaz. If you need information about the sister property, you can always call topaz and ask them if the sister properties have any openings and then get the number from them.

Suppose you want to stay in the heart of the Main Gayborhood, the only place you could possibly stay then is very inexpensive and is always a pleasent hotel. They use nice sheets, all the rooms are different and the beds are fluffy to ensure a good nights sleep. Yes I am talking about the irish chain hotel Jurys which just happens to be right on Dupont Circle in the heart of Gay Washington DC.
Jurys is the hotel I stayed at for multiple nights on different weeks when I first moved to Washington DC, it not only introduced me to the gay dc nightlife, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. From Jurys you can walk to numerous gay eateries, shops and lounges. Two of my favorite spots to eat at in Washington dc are Kramer Books and Raku which are right across the street from Jurys. Kramer Books has above and beyond the best Cajun Roastbeef sandwhich, however they are world renkowned for horrible service. Be prepared to spend 12 to 14 on one sandwhich and wait an hour to get your drinks. However the food is worth the wait.
Back to Gay dc hotels and gay friendly dc hotels like Jurys. Jurys is a high reccomendation in my book if you are looking for more of a chain hotel with its own flair and set in a safe and very gay neighborhood.
